Another version of the term ‘honeymoon’ comes from Ancient Rome where they claim that, after the wedding, the groom would capture the loved one and take her away to a hidden location where the father of the bride could not find them. It was said that the couple must stay hidden for the duration of four moons; about one month. During their time in hiding they would drink a sweet, aphrodisiacal mixture made from honey until the bride gave her herself to her new husband.

Whether it were the Germans or the Romans who coined this iconic term, it does not matter. What matters is that the next honeymoon will be YOURS!
